J. Erik Groves

Attorney at Law

With over 35 years practicing law, Mr. Groves is quite comfortable being a small town lawyer. He routinely counsels clients in many areas of the law ranging from estate planning, probate, corporate and business law, personal injury, wrongful death, automobile accident cases, and collection cases. He is a 1989 graduate of Wake Forest Law School and received his undergraduate degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1985.

Mr. Groves likes to spend time with his wonderful wife, Elizabeth, travelling or cultivating their small vineyard of native North Carolina muscadines, as well as a mountain orchard of more than 40 heirloom varieties of apple trees once thought extinct. He is the proud father of three grown children and (at present) three adorable grandchildren. Also with his wife, Mr. Groves formed The Message For Mayans, a 501(c)(3) corporation, which continues to evangelize and bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the native indigenous Mayan people living in the remote Yucatan area of Mexico.
